How to reconcile a PECO pallet account
Reconciling red PECO pallets: what PECO renters report, what to match, and where shortages usually come from.
How the PECO model has been described publicly
Public descriptions of PECO's program (trade press and a 2016 court opinion) describe a per-use rental: the manufacturer or shipper that rents the pallets pays, and the rental runs from delivery to the renter until the renter reports the pallets shipped. Retailer distribution centers that receive PECO pallets are generally not charged for them. Your own contract is what counts; check its terms.
Renters report orders, transfers to distributors and returns through PECO's portal (RED<>LINK) or EDI.
What to reconcile
Match every shipment that left on red pallets to a transfer reported to PECO, and check quantities. Shipments to customers that require PECO are the place to start, because pallet type is often not recorded in the WMS.
Count empties and trailer loads the same way you would for any pool, by pallet color.

PalletAudits matches every shipment to a declared transfer and lists what to declare, dispute and recount. Your first audit is free.
