Pallet count sheet: every place to count
A practical checklist of every area to count during a pooled pallet audit, with tips for mixed pallet types.
Areas to count
- Racks and bulk storage (full pallets), by pallet type.
- Empties on the dock and in stacks inside the building.
- Staging lanes: picked loads waiting to ship.
- Trailers in the yard, loaded and empty.
- Damaged / repair pile and anything held for return.
- Off-site: sister buildings, repair vendors, overflow storage, carriers.
Tips
- Count each pallet type separately; one wrong-color pallet per stack adds up across a building.
- Count on one day, at one cut-off time, and use the same cut-off for the exports you pull.
- Write down who counted each area so recounts go to the right place.
