Pallet reconciliation template (and when a spreadsheet stops working)
The simple balance formula behind every pallet reconciliation, and why matching shipments to declarations is the hard part.
The formula
Expected balance = opening balance + pallets issued to you + pallets received on pooled pallets โ pallets shipped on pooled pallets โ pallets returned.
Gap to explain = the pallet company's balance โ your physical count.
Where spreadsheets break down
The totals are easy. Finding which shipments weren't declared means matching hundreds of loads to declarations that may use a different reference, a different customer name, a different date, or combine several loads into one line. That matching is what PalletAudits automates.
Find your missing pallets
PalletAudits matches every shipment to a declared transfer and lists what to declare, dispute and recount. Your first audit is free.
